#Acapulco Chair

Legend has it that a French tourist was visiting Acapulco in the '50s and was uncomfortably hot atop a solidly-constructed chair in the Mexico sunshine. Inspired by the open string construction of traditional Mayan hammocks nearby, he designed a chair fit for the modern tropics. True or not, the first Acapulco chair was produced in the 1950s,  and quickly became popular in Mexico. Is usually made of vinyl cords on a pear-shaped metal frame although lately several different versions were created, showcasing the chair with a round frame, a leather seat or as a loveseat. Although commonly used outdoors, this versatile chair can also be used indoors where it looks stylish and glamorous. Acapulco Chair - £250.00
